About me

Aloha!
My name is Peter Bond.
In 1978 I went to a trade-school in Vermont called Guitar, Research and Design. (GRD) It was taught by Charles Fox, the inventor of the side-bending machine, and I built 4 guitars. The love affair was on.
I came back home to Oahu, and was lucky enough to get a job as shop rat at Stringman. One of Hawaii’s top repair shops, it was owned and operated by Jimmy Muneno and Mitch Yanagida. Two legends in the repair community.
I worked for them for 3 years, and it was magic.
Around the same time, I also started playing in bands, and was very active in the live music scene for the next 20 years, as well as working at some of the premier underground record stores. I was immersed in music.
In 1993, I became the head of the repair department at Island Guitars. “Hawaii’s best guitar store.”
We carried and serviced them all.
Martin, Taylor, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Gretsch and so much more. They all passed through my hands.
I have also helped 1000’s of people here on Oahu repair their guitars and ‘ukulele. I was very privileged and honored to work for Island Guitars for 30 years.
And now... I’m doing it on my own. Peter Bond Guitar Repair.
From simple restrings and set-ups, to fretwork, full re-frets , bridge re-sets, crack repair, pick- up installs and beyond, I can help you with it.
I know how much you need your baby back, so a quick turnaround is also what I’m striving for. No job to small. Restrings done in 10 minutes!
Gimmie a call, text me a line, or drop me an e-mail. Let’s get your best friend back up and ready to play some music!

Magic awaits!
